Glenn B. Wilkie

Services will be at 2:00 PM Monday, October 8, 2012, at Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Pampa, with Rev. Barry Owens, associate pastor of First Baptist Church of Pampa, officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Glenn was born February 5, 1921 in Augusta, Kansas to Henry and Stella Wilkie. Glenn was a 1941 graduate of Pampa High School. He married Mildred Fulkerson, the love of his life, July 6, 1947 in Pampa. He worked at Cabot/Ingersoll Rand as a tool and die maker until he retired in January of 1985, after 27 years with the company. Glenn served in the U. S. Navy during WWII aboard the battleship USS Iowa. Glenn and Mildred moved to Georgetown, Texas in 1986. They were members of Crestview Baptist Church for 24 years. He enjoyed golf, fishing and telling stories of his past. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Stella. Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years: Mildred Wilkie of Georgetown; daughter: Cathy Harkins and her husband Joe of Lubbock; son: Edward Wilkie of Corsicana; daughter-in-law: Sherry Wilkie-Conway of Georgetown; four grandchildren: Matthew Wilkie and Amy Minze and her husband Rory, all of Georgetown; Celeste Harkins of Lubbock; and Kayla Wilkie of Corsicana; and four great grandchildren: Tripp & Mattie Wilkie and Rody & Rylie Minze all of Georgetown. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Heart to Heart Hospice and to Nicole Osmundsen and Eva Thompson for their support in his final days.
