Dolly Marie Ferguson

Services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, October 4, 2012, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Pastor Jimmye Cole of Church of the Nazarene, officiating.Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.Mrs. Ferguson was born November 6, 1919 in Chandler, Oklahoma. She married Fred Ferguson on January 31, 1949. He preceded her in death on December 10, 2000. Dolly had been a longtime member of Somerville Church of Christ. She was a very loving mother and grandmother.Survivors include a daughter: Loretta Norville and husband Coke of Lone Wolf, Oklahoma; 2 sons: Ronnie Gilbert and wife Mary of Amarillo, and Kenneth Ferguson and wife Rilla of Lubbock; 15 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; 2 brothers: Melvin Johnson of Belton and Elmer Johnson of Kansas City, Missouri; 2 sisters: Ida Silberg of Pampa and Edith Richerson and husband Dale of Fritch. Dolly was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter: Barbara McDowell; a son: Freddy Ferguson; and 2 brothers: Chester Johnson and Clyde Johnson. Memorials may be made to the High Plains Children's Home, 11461 S. Western, Amarillo, Texas 79118.
