Petra Mendoza

Vigil will be at 7:00 PM, Monday, Sept. 17, 2012, at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church. Mass will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012, at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church with Rev. Francisco Perez, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.Petra was born May 13, 1927 in Castolon. She has lived in Pampa since 1972. She married Ines P. Mendoza on August 3, 1942; he died May 13, 2010. Petra was a member of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church and Crucillista. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Maria Elena Mendoza, and a son, Miguel Mendoza. Petra is survived by 7 daughters: Susana Flores, Celia Mendoza, and Maria Estela Martinez all of Oklahoma City, Elydia Olivas of Odessa, Apolonia Mendoza of Rio Rancho, NM, Rita Mendoza of Hayes, KS, and Ynes Alderson of Midland; 3 sons: Juan de Dios Mendoza of Odessa, Jessy Mendoza of Pampa, and Jose Ramon Mendoza of Gatesville; 2 sisters: Maria Alonso of Mexico and Adelaida Alonso of Midland; 2 brothers: Luciano Alonso and Luis Alonso, both of Mexico; 33 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren; and by special friends: Salvador and Alicia Valenzuela.
