SERVICES: A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, September 6, 2012, at Central Baptist Church in Pampa, with Rev. Norman Rushing, pastor, officiating.BURIAL: Fairview Cemetery in Pampa, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Ward was born February 26, 1926 near Carter, Oklahoma to G. Dee and Ila Ward. He graduated from Carter High School and served in the army Air Force during W.W.II. He married Viola Smith on August 27, 1945 and they recently celebrated sixty-seven years of marriage.Kenneth and Viola lived in Pampa for over fifty years. He was a member of Central Baptist Church and enjoyed helping build churches with Texas Baptist Men Church Builders. He was active with his Sunday school class and building projects at Panfork Baptist Encampment.He spent most of his life as a carpenter, beginning as a framer and retiring after owning his own building business for many years. His retirement years were filled with fishing, camping, and trips across the country with friends and relatives.Kenneth and Viola moved to Waxahachie in 2009 to live closer to their sons. He was a member of the Bereans Sunday School class at First Baptist Church in Waxahachie.He is survived by his wife: Viola Ward of the home; two sons: Lonnie Ward and wife Cherryl of Flower Mound, and Marvin Ward and wife Martha of Waxahachie; 3 granddaughters: Melissa Ward of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Kristin Dorsett and husband Kevin of Austin, and Michelle Wright and husband Shawn of St. Charles, Missouri; and grandson David Ward of Norman, Oklahoma. He is also survived by a sister-in-law: Clara Ward of Cache, Oklahoma; and a brother-in-law: Albert Turner of Cache, Oklahoma.Should friends desire, contributions may be sent to Central Baptist Church Panfork Baptist Encampment Fund, 4530 County Road 210, Wellington, Texas, 79095, or Mercy Hospice, 417 Oak Bend, Suite 170, Lewisville, Texas, 75067.
