SERVICES: Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, August 2, 2012, at Shamrock Cemetery, with Rev. Jim Sinyard, pastor of Carpenter's Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Douglas was born January 10, 1936 in Shamrock, where attended schools. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, drafted into service in 1958. He married Ruby McLemore on April 8, 1961 in Shamrock. Bill retired from Colorado Interstate Gas Company after 15 years of service, and moved to Pampa shortly after. He loved hunting, fishing, and restoring antique vehicles. He was a very loving husband, father, and grandfather.SURVIVORS: wife: Ruby Douglas of the home; 2 sons: Billy Kirk Douglas of Pampa and Jonathan Douglas and wife Delene of Fritch; 2 grandsons: Dustin Douglas and wife Annie of Pampa and Cameron Douglas of Fritch; 2 granddaughters: Amanda Douglas of Pampa and Virginia Notgrass and husband Chad of Saginaw; several great-grandchildren; 5 sisters: Dollye Montgomery of Fallon, Nevada, Neoma Bates of Boise, Idaho, Mona Harris of Altus, Oklahoma, Linda Steward of Weatherford, Oklahoma, and Billie Jean Welty of Amarillo; and 2 brothers: Thurman "Red" Davis of Idabell, Oklahoma, and P. A. Davis of Borger. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son: Jeffrey Douglas; and 3 brothers: Bob, Harold and Oval Douglas.MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
