BURIAL: Memory Gardens Cemetery in Pampa, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Moreland was born June 27, 1934 in Borger, where he attended school and graduated from Borger High School in 1952. He married Donna Shair on April 11, 1954 in Clayton, New Mexico. She preceded him in death on May 29, 2008. He served as mayor of Skellytown in the early 1970's. William worked for Skelly, Getty and Texaco, retiring in the late 1980's. He then worked for Parker & Parsley for several years. He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church of Skellytown. William was a member of the S.G.T. retiree club. He loved the outdoors where he fished and camped. He enjoyed restoring Volkswagens and was an avid gun collector.SURVIVORS: 3 daughters: Cindy Stegall and husband Harry of Borger, Terri Keener and husband Jere of Stratford, and Ronda Simpson and husband Tim of Thomas, Oklahoma; 2 sisters-in-law: Sue Smith of Skellytown and Mattie Moreland-Ready of Dumas; 5 grandsons: Jesse Francis and wife Abbie of San Antonio, Kyle Francis of Pampa, Myles Simpson of Edmond, Oklahoma, Quentin Simpson of Weatherford, Oklahoma, and Ethan Boren of Borger; 2 granddaughters: Erin Boren of Fort Worth, and Emma Boren of Amarillo; a great-grandson: Logan Francis of San Antonio; and his special companion, his dog: d-o-gee. William was preceded in death by his parents: William and Mildred Moreland; a brother: Leroy Moreland; and a sister: Wanda Brain. MEMORIALS: First Baptist Church, P.O.
