Netta Faye Brewer

SERVICES: 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at Rader Funeral Home in Longview, Texas, with Rev. Mark and Brenda Zedlitz, officiating.BURIAL: Rosewood Park in Longview, Texas under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview, Texas.Mrs. Brewer was born June 22, 1926 in Zema, Mississippi, to James Clinton and Lora Icy Brazeale Spears. She married Joe Ed Brewer on September 12, 1946 in Jackson, Mississippi. They moved to Pampa, Texas in 1947 and lived there until June of 2005 when they moved to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Joe preceded her in death in 2007. Faye worked for Gilbert's Ladies Wear for many years. She owned and operated Faye's Dress Shop in the Coronado Center from 1972 until 1983 when she retired. She and Joe lived in Pampa until 2005 when they moved to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. After Joe's death, Faye moved to Longview, Texas to live with 2 of her daughters in 2009. Faye was a loving wife of 62 years, a loving mother and "Mammaw" to her children and grandchildren and many friends called her "Mammaw." She was a true southern lady, and a fantastic cook whose table was always open to her many friends and neighbors. She and Joe were known for their great generosity with true servants' hearts. She will be missed so much by those who love her, but we know she is dancing on the streets of glory.Faye was preceded in death by husband, Joe Brewer, parents, Clint & Icy Spears, brother, Edley Spears, 2 sisters, Jay Tascher and Ila Kay Spears, great-grandson, Jherico Speta and brother of her heart, Henry Veach.Faye is survived by: one son - Thomas Joe Brewer & wife Vicki of Konawa, Oklahoma, three daughters Wanda Farrar and husband Terry, Sr. of Longview, Texas, Gail Summers and husband L. E. "Butch" of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Sandy Rosenbalm of Longview, Texas. 14 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, 2 sisters - Gertie Blackmon of Pearl, Mississippi and Gladys Hannah of Brandon, Mississippi and one brother - J. W. Spears and wife Frances of Brandon, Mississippi and numerous nephews and nieces, one sister in law - Jimmie Vick of Wyandotte, Michigan, sister of her heart, Barbara Veach of Rogers, Arkansas, children of her heart, Mark & Brenda Zedlitz, grandchildren of her heart, Hilary, Chloe and Brendan Zedlitz.
