SERVICES: 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at Mary Ellen & Harvester Church of Christ, with Keith Feerer, minister, and Glen Walton, minister of Bell Avenue Church of Christ of Amarillo, officiating.BURIAL: Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Ford was born Oct. 6, 1938 in Kilgore. She attended grammar school in Kilgore before moving to Amarillo where she graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1957. She then attended St. Anthony's School of Nursing where she received her RN certification in 1959. Janice married George Ford on Feb. 2, 1962 in Amarillo. She and her husband moved to Pampa in 1964 where she had been a resident ever since. She worked as a staff nurse at Worley Hospital and Coronado Hospital in Pampa. Janice was a member of Mary Ellen and Harvester Church of Christ. She will be remembered as a loving, compassionate, dedicated, dependable, and selfless wife, mother, and grandmother, and she will be greatly missed.SURVIVORS: Husband: George Ford of the home; 5 daughters: Robyn Ford of Lewisville, Tina Green and husband Kelly of Poolville, Kay Smith and husband Randall of Amarillo, Shawna Ford of Oklahoma City, and Shannon Chesser and husband Jason of Beaverton, Oregon; a sister: Lynette Billington and husband Steve of Amarillo; her mother: Justina McCurry of Amarillo; 12 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lynn and Zena Skinner, a sister, Evelyn George, a brother, Lynn Edward Skinner, and her father, Melton McCurry.MEMORIALS: Pampa Meals on Wheels, 302 E.
