Navy. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Brown was born October 19, 1927 in Amarillo. As a young boy, his family moved to the White Deer area. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, serving during World War II. After the war, he was a farmer, and he worked at the Amarillo Globe News for over 40 years. Bill was a current member of the White Deer United Methodist Church and was a former member, deacon and song leader at Hi-Land Christian Church of Pampa. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening. He will be remembered as a man with a great sense of humor, and he never met a stranger.SURVIVORS: 4 sons: Larry Brown and wife Arlene of Burleson, Ray Brown of Amarillo, David Brown and wife Lanna of Groom, and Steve Brown and wife Cindy of White Deer; 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren; special friend: Bonnie Blackwell of Amarillo; and special nephew: Bobby Joe Brown of Amarillo.
