SERVICES: 10:00 AM Monday, March 19, 2012, at White Deer United Methodist Church, with Rev. Dr. Jerry R. Lane, pastor, officiating.BURIAL: White Deer Cemetery with military honors courtesy of U. S. Navy. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Brown was born October 19, 1927 in Amarillo. As a young boy, his family moved to the White Deer area. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, serving during World War II. After the war, he was a farmer, and he worked at the Amarillo Globe News for over 40 years. Bill was a current member of the White Deer United Methodist Church and was a former member, deacon and song leader at Hi-Land Christian Church of Pampa. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening. He will be remembered as a man with a great sense of humor, and he never met a stranger.SURVIVORS: 4 sons: Larry Brown and wife Arlene of Burleson, Ray Brown of Amarillo, David Brown and wife Lanna of Groom, and Steve Brown and wife Cindy of White Deer; 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren; special friend: Bonnie Blackwell of Amarillo; and special nephew: Bobby Joe Brown of Amarillo. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, 3 sisters, and a great-granddaughter: Isabel Brown. MEMORIALS: White Deer United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 835, White Deer, Texas 79097.
