SERVICES: 10:00 AM Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at Highland Baptist Church with Paul Nachtigall, pastor, and Allen Snapp, deacon, officiating.BURIAL: Graveside services will be at 3:00 PM Tuesday at Llano Cemetery East in Amarillo under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.BIOGRAPHY: Robert was born Aug. 11, 1949 in Pampa where he had been a lifelong resident. He was a 1967 graduate of Pampa High School and attended Texas Tech University. Shortly after college, Robert married Monty Huff on Aug. 8, 1969 in Pampa. In the late 1970's, Robert and Monty owned Lad and Lassie children's clothing store. He was employed by Texaco for seventeen years, and at the time he was diagnosed with cancer, he was a compressor mechanic for Exterran Energies. Robert rededicated his life to the Lord at Highland Baptist Church, and Allen Snapp, a lifelong friend, baptized Robert and Monty. He was preceded in death by his brother, Duane Schaub, in 1991, his father, Clyde Schaub, in 1996, his mother-in-law, Audry Huff, in 2006, and his nephew, Derek Schaub, in 2011.SURVIVORS: his wife of 42 years: Monty Schaub of the home; two daughters: Krista Jones and husband Kelly of Amarillo and Allyn Schaub and husband Gary Kronen of Oak Brook, IL; his mother: Bonnie Schaub of Amarillo; a sister: Paula Longbine and husband Johnny of Childress; two grandsons: Hayden Jones and Cooper Jones, both of Amarillo; a granddaughter: Lilly Kronen of Oak Brook, IL; six sisters-in-law: Virginia Horton and husband Red, Judy Grant and husband Larry Loter, Dian Smith, and Ann Banister, all of Amarillo; Norma Mitchell of Geronimo, OK; and Mellvinia Stocking of Pampa; two brothers-in-law: George Huff and Rusty Huff, both of Pampa; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and his supportive family at Highland Baptist Church. Robert was lovingly called "Robo" by his grandchildren, nieces, nephews, close family, and friends.MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Highland Baptist Church Activities Center, 1301 N. Banks, Pampa, TX 79065.SPECIAL NOTICE: The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:30 PM Monday at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Home.
