SERVICES: 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 28, 2012, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel in Pampa, Texas, with Anne Davidson, officiating.BURIAL: Fairview Cemetery in Pampa, Texas, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Andrus was born November 5, 1915 in Pampa to a pioneer family, Jess and Mabel Fletcher. She was reared in Pampa and saw many historical events over her lifetime. She later married Robert J. (Bob) Andrus and lived in Pampa most of her life.She saw Pampa's first automobile which was purchased by Dr. Brunow, and saw Indian Jim lay the brick streets of Pampa. Her parents owned and operated Pampa's only hotel at that time, the "Liberty," located across from the Santa Fe Railroad Depot. She provided much historical information about early Pampa to the White Deer Land Museum. God blessed her with many gifts. She played the piano beautifully (by ear) and earlier in her life, played for many organizations.She had so many life lessons to teach, and passed them on to her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She lived her faith by example. She had been a member of First Baptist Church of Pampa until she moved in 2003 to Alexandria where Calvary Baptist Church became her church home. She was loved and will be greatly missed.She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Andrus, her parents, and one sister, Hazel Carlton.Those left to cherish her loving memories are one daughter: LaVonna Dalton and husband Gary of Alexandria, Louisiana; 2 grandsons: Derik Dalton of Pampa, Texas, and Monte Dalton and wife Shellie of Lithia, Florida; 4 great-grandchildren: Taylor Dalton and Tori Dalton, both of Pampa, Texas, and Drake Dalton and Langlie Dalton, both of Lithia, Florida.
