Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: 'Buck' was born October 14, 1923 in Amarillo, Texas to Walter and Buena Worley. After graduating from Canadian High School in 1941, Buck worked as an aircraft mechanic for Consolidated Aircraft in San Diego, CA. In 1944, he joined the Army Air Force. Buck flew the PT-19-A Fairchild, BT-13A, AT-6, P-40N and anything else he could find while on active duty. Buck remained in the Air Force Reserves and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in the USAF. In addition he flew an L-5 as a member of the Confederate Air Force Dew Line Squadron. Aircraft and flying remained a lifelong passion. After the war, he attended West Texas State University for 3 years where he majored in accounting. He married Chleo Armstrong on April 7, 1946 in Clovis, New Mexico. In 1946, Buck started working as bookkeeper for the White House Lumber Co, in Canadian, Texas. Eventually, Buck owned the company in addition to Elco Glass and Home Builders Supply. For many years he served as Director and Board Member for the Texas Lumberman's Association in addition to various Pampa civic groups. Buck was a life member of Masonic Lodge 966; Scottish Rite Consistory of Lubbock and Khiva Shrine Temple of Amarillo. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Pampa. SURVIVORS: His wife of 65 years Chleo; his son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Kay Worley of Carlsbad, California and two granddaughters: Angela Worley of Columbus, Ohio and Megan with her husband Major Doug Krugman of Honolulu, Hawaii.
