SERVICES: Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, February 2, 2012 at Fairview Cemetery, with Rev. Jim Sinyard, pastor of Carpenter's Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Ms. Helfer was born December 27, 1951 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She attended Pampa High School and was a longtime waitress at various Pampa cafes. She loved life and lived it to the fullest.SURVIVORS: 4 daughters: Michelle Irwin and husband Casey and Sunnie Szozda, all of Amarillo, and Christy Baker and Angela Watson, both of Pampa; her father and stepmother: James and Oveta Orand of Rockport; 2 brothers: Billy Collins of Tryon, North Carolina and Danny Orand and wife Ashlee of Pampa; 4 sisters: Linda Wagner of Lamar, Marie McCathern and husband Derrell of Beeville, Teresa Taylor and husband R. K. of Rockport, and Darla Giger of Pampa; 19 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother: Helen Orand; and a son-in-law: Bill (Dusty) Baker.
