SERVICES: 10:00 AM Thursday, December 29, 2011, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Rev. Mike Watson, pastor of Hobart Baptist Church, and Rev. Jon Watson, pastor of Caprock Baptist Church of Amarillo, officiating.BURIAL: Memory Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Steve Cox, pastor of St. Paul United Methodist Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Hall was born September 30, 1922 in Stigler, Oklahoma to Roy Virgil and Nettie Francis Killion King. She had been a resident of Lefors since 1930, graduating from Lefors High School in 1940. She married Carl Chadwick (Babe) Hall on June 15, 1941 in Lefors. He preceded her in death on April 7, 2002, after 60 years of marriage. Opal served as a volunteer on the Lefors Federal Credit Union Audit Committee for 23 years. She was a member of the Lefors Art and Civic Club for 40 years, serving in every office during that time and as president three different terms. She also served on the Top of Texas District Board for several years. Opal was a member of the United Methodist Church of Lefors where she served as treasurer numerous years and also as the board secretary. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister: Bernice King Higgins in 1990; and her brother: Bobby Ralph King in 1999.SURVIVORS: 3 nieces: Kaye Higgins, Kristy Higgins Finley and Shannon King Birchum; 2 nephews: Wesley King and Kirk King; sister-in-law: Patricia King; and brother-in-law: Leon Higgins.
