James W. Taylor

SERVICES: Memorial services will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, December 17, 2011, at St. Mark CME Church with Rev. Spencer Stoker, pastor, and Rev. Darren Willis, pastor of New Hope Baptist Church, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Taylor was born September 24, 1940 in Terrell. He moved to Pampa in 1945, graduating from Pampa High School in 1958. James married Bea Powell on April 28, 1984 in Pampa. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving during the Vietnam War. He was employed by Phillips Petroleum, Kerr-McGee, K & K Construction, and was in charge of maintenance for the Pampa Chamber of Commerce Building. James was a member of St. Mark CME Church. He enjoyed shooting pool and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.SURVIVORS: wife: Bea Taylor of the home; 4 daughters: Lerissa Taylor Reeves of Renton, Washington, Rachel Adkism of Waco, Cynthia Ellis of Arlington, and Rotounda Lockett of Cedar Hills; 3 sons: James W. Taylor of Borger, Calvin Minefield of Missouri, and James Allen of Colorado; 3 brothers: Clyde Steele of Colorado, Bobby Bryant of San Antonio, and Danny Harris of Pampa; a sister: Synora Kendrick of Houston; 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
