S. Navy. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Blakeney was born August 27, 1931 in Wichita Falls. He was raised in Spring Creek. He graduated from Borger High School. Mr. Blakeney married Charlene Thomas on September 4, 1955 in Stinnett. She preceded her in death in November 7, 2010. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy serving during the Korean Conflict. He had been a resident of Pampa since 1960. He attended Texas Tech University and graduated from West Texas State University. He retired from the Texas Railroad Commission as District Director after 33 years of service. Mr. Blakeney was a founding member of A.P.I, American Petroleum Institute. He was a member of the JC's and was a Pampa Hospital Volunteer. He showed his family how to balance love, hard work and family devotion. Mr. Blakney was preceded in death by his parents: William O. and Sybil Prior Blakeney and a brother: Billy Blakeney.SURVIVORS: 3 daughters: Kerry Barrett and husband Vernon Don of Alvord, Sherry Denece Blakeney of Pampa and Sabrina Ruena Stratford of Broomfield, CO; 2 grandsons: Blakeney Ray Barrett of Alvord and Cole Ryan Hosselkus of Greeley, Colorado; 4 nieces and 5 nephews.
