Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Wiens was born February 28, 1920 in Montezuma, Kansas. He graduated from Copeland High School in 1940. He married Grace Jane Roth on December 6, 1941 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on February 9, 2002. Ed was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving during World War II. He retired from Cities Service Gas Company in 1984 after 33 years of service. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Win-Some Fellowship Sunday school class where he formerly served as secretary/treasurer, and he also served as Sunday school superintendent for 35 years. He was a member of the Pampa Lions Club where he served as president and secretary. He was director of the High Plains Eye Bank and was awarded a life membership to the Texas Lions Camp. In his younger years, he enjoyed bowling and trout fishing. He was a Community Concert supporter and was a very generous person.SURVIVORS: 2 daughters: Virginia Dewey of Pampa and Sue Bell of Amarillo; 4 sisters: Susanna Unruh, Irene Koehn, Alma Wiens and Velma Wiens, all of Montezuma, Kansas; 4 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren.
