Ronnie Lambert, pastor, officiating.BURIAL: Memorial Heights Cemetery in Lefors, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. O'Brien was born August 14, 1942 in Springfield, Ohio to Vernon and Mary O'Brien. He served in the military, being discharged in 1974. He married Nancy (Sam) McCoy in 1971. Together they raised 7 children. They moved to Panhandle in 1976. He worked for Panhandle ISD as a bus driver, and farmed for Frank Robinson. In 1982, they returned to Ohio to be with family, and he opened OB Tank Service. They later returned to Texas and Wayne worked for Vibra Whirl in Panhandle, R. L. Gordy in Pampa, and P & B Pilot Cars until the time of his death. He was a member of the V.F.W. and the Lions Club. Wayne enjoyed fishing, bowling and cooking out. He never met a stranger and was very generous. He had been known to give his last dollar to help someone, and many times he did. He will be missed greatly by family and friends. SURVIVORS: wife of 40 years: Nancy "Sam" O'Brien of the home; 4 daughters: Bernie Austin and husband Steve and Sue Smith and husband Jeff, all of Amarillo, Teresa Gladman and husband of Springfield, Ohio, and Melinda Stover and Terry Maddox of Memphis; 2 sons: Wayne O'Brien, Jr., and wife Cindy of Riverdale, Georgia, and Charles Steiner and wife Tami of New Philadelphia, Ohio; 12 grandchildren: Katrina Vaughn of Boys Ranch, Kym Yannayon and Kurtis Steiner, both of Ohio, Jason Hartline of Memphis, Mercedes O'Brien of Perryton, Hagen Smith, Allanah Smith, Lizzy Smith and Eryn Austin, all of Amarillo, and Stephanie Young, Teresa Bruner and Jeff Young, all of Springfield, Ohio; 7 great-grandchildren; and special friend: Kathy Nord.
