SERVICES: Memorial graveside services will be 2:00 PM Monday, November 21, 2011, at Fairview Cemetery in Pampa, with Rev. Todd Dyess, interim pastor of United Methodist Church of Groom, and Rev. Weldon Rives, officiating. The body will lie in state Saturday and Sunday, November 12 and 13, at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Home in Pampa. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Stephens was born December 24, 1929 in Pampa to Claude and Edith Lawrence. She was a graduate of Pampa High School. She married John L. "Jack" Stephens on November 27, 1948 in Pampa. He preceded her in death on May 5, 2011. Margie had been a Carson County resident for over 62 years. She was a member of Alpha Mu Xi Sorority. She volunteered with the Pampa Regional Medical Center Auxiliary. Margie was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church in Groom. She was a homemaker and enjoyed making flower arrangements for Pampa Regional Medical Center as well as for the United Methodist Church in Groom. She enjoyed a tradition of hosting a Christmas coffee for 59 years. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.SURVIVORS: 3 sons: Larry Stephens and wife Kay of Pampa, Brent Stephens and wife Beverly of Groom, and Alan Stephens and wife Lola of Canyon; 2 grandsons: Adam Stephens of Austin, and Michael Stephens and wife Molly of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; 2 granddaughters: Lori Gray and husband Lee of Lubbock, and Michele Law and husband James of Austin; 1 great-granddaughter: Cora Michele Law of Austin; a sister: Claudine Cramer of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
