Velma Burris James

SERVICES: Memorial services will be held at a later date in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. James was born February 26, 1935 in Cleveland, Oklahoma to Roy and Bonnie Mae Davis. She married William Arzander James in 1954 in Ohio. He preceded her in death in 1964. Velma had been a resident of White Deer since the late 1980's. She enjoyed reading and she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.SURVIVORS: 2 sons: David James and wife Becky of Amarillo, and William James and wife Laura of Pennsylvania; 3 daughters: Elizabeth Wright and husband Jim of Ohio, Carol Blacker and husband Don of Colorado, and Roberta Chambers and husband Ray of New Mexico; 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers and 1 sister. Velma was preceded in death by her parents; a son: Richard A. James in 2002, a brother: Melvin Davis; and a grandson: J. D. James.MEMORIALS: Coronado Healthcare Center, 1504 W.
