He attended schools in Brownsville and La Porte. He married Nancy De La Cerda on September 8, 2000 in La Porte. Juan worked in the oilfield for many years. He loved the Dallas Cowboys and wrestling. He was a caring and loving father and husband and had a good heart. He always tried to help others.SURVIVORS: his wife: Nancy Ortega of the home; a daughter: Aislinn Ortega of the home; a son: Juan Santos Ortega, IV of the home; mother: Maria Norma Gutierrez and husband Alfonzo of Houston; 4 sisters: Jessica Majoy and husband Mike and Veronica Maria Gutierrez, all of California, and Angel Gutierrez and Mary Ann Gutierrez, both of Houston, 2 stepbrothers: Fonzie Gutierrez and Jimmy Gutierrez, both of Brownsville; 2 stepsisters: Erica Guzman and Adelina Gutierrez, both of Brownsville; several nieces and nephews. Juan was preceded in death by his father: Juan Santos Ortega, Jr.; grandparents: Juan Santos Ortega and wife Dominga Ortega, and Mr. & Mrs. Jose Angel Pena.
