SERVICES: 2:00 PM Friday, October 14, 2011 at First Baptist Church of Miami, with Rev. Dennis Williams, pastor, officiating.BURIAL: Miami Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Holland was born December 19, 1924 in Greer County, Oklahoma, 30 miles northwest of Mangum, Oklahoma, to John Henry and Dora Lea Hood McGuffin. She attended Plainview, Oklahoma country school and was active in basketball and softball. On her 18th birthday, she married Joe Charles (Jay) Holland on December 19, 1942 in Erick, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death in 1998. The Holland family moved from Erick, Oklahoma to the Miami area in 1950 where they farmed and ranched, and later began a custom haying business. Their home was a gathering place for their children's friends. There are fond memories of their "after church" parties where hot chocolate and cake were plentiful.While living in Miami most of her life, Georgia drove a school bus for 7 years, worked at Bailey Grocery store, Miami Implement, and Consolidated Utilities. She also served as a care-person for several area women. She was a member of the North Plains Club and the Red Hat Society.Georgia was a wonderful mother and grandmother who will be missed. She loved taking care of and creating memories with her grandkids. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Miami and loved serving in any way she could.She was preceded in death by her parents: John and Dora McGuffin; a daughter: Eddie O'Nell Holland Cope; a son: J Curtis Holland; a brother: V Elmer McGuffin; and 2 sisters: Bernice Rutherford and Juinel Hamilton.SURVIVORS: 2 sons: Joe Holland and wife Connie of Pampa, and Rex Holland of Happy; son-in-law: Jim Cope of Happy; 6 grandchildren: Joda Crow and husband Greg of Carrollton, Jeffna Cox and husband Bruce of Happy, Jason Holland and wife Jamie of Argyle, Jennifer Holland of Plano, Gary Holland and wife Kari of Denton, and Brad Holland and wife Kelly of Krum; 12 great-grandchildren.MEMORIALS: Pampa Sheltered Workshop, P.O.
