SERVICES: Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, October 6, 2011, at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Pampa, with Rev. Linda Kelly, rector, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Van Bergen was born April 4, 1932 in Ligonier, Indiana and was a 1950 graduate of Auburn High School in Auburn, Indiana. She attended Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio. She married Richard Van Bergen on August 14, 1954 in Bossier City, Louisiana. He preceded her in death on September 15, 2007. She was a member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Pampa and volunteered at Good Samaritan Christian Services in Pampa for many years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved animals, especially her dogs "Bingo" and "CoCo" and her cat "Cat." SURVIVORS: 2 daughters: Heidi Van Bergen and son-in-law: Ted Leonard of Yuma, Colorado, and Carrie Van Bergen and husband Jack Zanger of Amarillo; 2 brothers: Joe Hardenbrook and wife Sue of Indiana, and Dan Hardenbrook of California; 4 grandchildren: Pearl Van Bergen, Alan Leonard, George Leonard and Lauren Leonard; 2 great-grandchildren: Ezra Saxton and Cora Coon.
