Betty Rose Minton

SERVICES: Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011, at Memory Gardens Cemetery with Paul Nachtigall, pastor of Highland Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Minton was born Nov. 17, 1933 in Marlow, Oklahoma and had been a resident of Pampa since 1975. She married Richard Leslie Minton on Dec. 9, 1961 in Modesto, California. He preceded her in death on March 2, 2004. Betty was a homemaker and a member of the Pentecostal church. She loved animals especially her Chinese pug. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Betty was also preceded in death by her parents, Evert and Manuella Shorter.SURVIVORS: Daughter: Patricia Stone of Pampa; a son: Herb Leslie Minton and wife Mary of Pampa; a brother: Don Lee Shorter and wife Ruth of Tennessee; 2 grandsons: Dakotah Waldrop and Daniel Waldrop and wife Kayleen, all of Pampa; 2 granddaughters: Miranda and Megan Waldrop, both of Pampa; a great granddaughter: Cheryl Ann Brooks of Pampa; and by a sister-in-law, Louise Shorter, of Mobeetie.
