He graduated from Arlington State College in 1965 with a B.S. in mathematics and a minor in physics. Paul married Donna Byrum on August 19, 1967 in Miami. He was a computer systems programmer and analyst for 23 years. He served as mayor of Miami from 1983-1985. He taught high school math in Miami for a year. Paul was a member of First Baptist Church in Miami where he served as Sunday school director and teacher, and he led the singing during worship services. He enjoyed bowling, golf, playing dominos and bridge. Paul was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.SURVIVORS: wife: Donna Goodman of the home; 3 daughters: Amy Mabrey and husband Craig of Plano, Lori Dossey and husband Dr. Adam Dossey of Tyler, and Carla Cozort and husband Jeff of Frisco; 8 grandchildren: Ashley and Lindsey Mabrey of Plano, Daniel, Dylan and Dustin Dossey of Tyler, Britton, Mackenzie and Noah Cozort, of Frisco; 2 brothers-in-law: Charles Byrum and wife Ann of Miami, and David Byrum of Abilene.
