SERVICES: 2:00 PM Saturday, September 24, 2011, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel in Pampa, with Floyd Stumbo of The Children's Home of Lubbock, officiating.BURIAL: Fairview Cemetery in Pampa, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Johnson was born October 29, 1923 in Crosbyton to Fred and Leona Littlefield. She graduated from West Texas State College where she was president of her senior class, delivering the commencement address. Marion moved to Pampa to teach first grade where she met and married John Johnson on April 17, 1949. They made their home of 59 years at the Johnson Farm southwest of Pampa and he preceded her in death on January 9, 2009. For many years, Marion taught second grade in White Deer. She was a dedicated teacher and was recognized as "Outstanding Elementary Teacher of America" for 1974. Marion was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She was a long time member of Mary Ellen & Harvester Church of Christ in Pampa. She lived her last couple of years in a senior facility in Plano where she was a victim of Alzheimer's. SURVIVORS: her daughter: Mary Bartley and husband Jerry of Plano; a granddaughter: Blair Lawrence of Plano; and a brother: Bob Littlefield of Hobbs, New Mexico.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The Children's Home of Lubbock, P.O. Box 2449, Lubbock, Texas 79408.
