SERVICES: 2:00 PM Saturday, August 27, 2011, at Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Pampa, and memorial services will be at 3:30 PM Saturday, August 27, 2011, at First Baptist Church in White Deer, with Rev. Alan Wilson, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Hoskins was born July 4, 1934 in Durant, Oklahoma. His family moved to Skellytown when he was a young boy. He graduated from White Deer High School. Eugene married Clara Meaker on August 16, 1951 in Clayton, New Mexico, and they just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. He farmed for years and owned and operated his own overland commercial truck. He was a member of First Baptist Church of White Deer. Eugene loved spending time with his grandchildren and attending their games. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.SURVIVORS: his wife: Clara Hoskins of the home; his son: Rickey Hoskins of the home; his daughter: Callie Freedman and husband Bill of Amarillo; 2 brothers: Don Hoskins of Amarillo and Charles Hoskins and wife Pat of Austin; 2 grandsons: William Herring and wife Lisa of Phoenix, Arizona, and Nolan Hoskins of Amarillo; 2 granddaughters: Tori Ellison and husband Chris of Phoenix, Arizona, and Katherine Hoskins of College Station; a great-grandson: Mason Herring of Phoenix, Arizona; and his sister-in-law: Carolyn Hoskins of Pampa. Eugene was preceded in death by a brother: Jim Hoskins; and his parents: Cecil Clarence and Bernice Eddins Hoskins.MEMORIALS: First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 337, White Deer, Texas 79097.
