Parker, with Harvest Fellowship Church, officiating.BURIAL: Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Aubra Eugene "Gene" Cade went to be with the Lord Wednesday, August 17, 2011, after a lengthy illness and we all feel so blessed to have shared in his life of 83 years. Mr. Cade was born into a farming family in Slaton, Texas, and continued with that farming heritage as a way of life until he retired in 1981, when he moved to Pampa. He served in the Army Armed forces, being discharged at the end of the Korean conflict. In 1946, he married Earnestine Snider in Lubbock, Texas. They farmed with his parents in Lubbock and then expanded to farms in Olton and Morton in 1960. Along with farming and gardening, he raised registered cattle, swine, sheep and horses. He loved being out with his crops and livestock. Many happy days were spent in the field where his wife and kids were right beside him. He is probably best known for his slow talk and his love of storytelling; he will be greatly missed by all. After retiring and moving to Pampa, he raised gardens with wonderful tomatoes, cucumbers and squash that many people enjoyed. The grandchildren and great grandchildren loved to come and benefit from his swing, big hugs, and storytelling; he would always make sure you had plenty to eat. Many will remember him with his windshield repair business, which helped keep him very busy in his retirement years. He enjoyed helping in the church nursery for many years. Mr. Cade served as a deacon in each church of the towns they lived. He was a member of Harvest Fellowship Church at the time of his death. He loved being around people and hunting and fishing in the Colorado Mountains.
