SERVICES: Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM Monday, July 25, 2011, at Fairview Cemetery, with Rev. Lynn Hancock, pastor of Briarwood Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Whinery was born September 9, 1929 on a farm at Moriarty, New Mexico. He attended school in Phoenix, Arizona where he met his sweetheart, Patty Durall. They were married on October 30, 1949 in Florence, Arizona, and she preceded him in death on September 28, 2010. He worked as a roofer and was a member of the Roofers Local 135 Union in Phoenix, Arizona. He was very creative and artistic and was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed many hobbies including fishing with his children, but his favorite hobby was pampering his wife. He was a very hard working man and a wonderful provider. He had a very strong will to live.SURVIVORS: three daughters: Vicki Price and Patty Carlene Cournoyer, both of San Antonio, and Linda Sickler and husband David of Pampa; a son: William Guy Whinery of Norman, Oklahoma; 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers: Bernard Lee Whinery and David Lewis Whinery.MEMORIALS: BSA Hospice, 800 N. Sumner, Pampa, Texas 79065.
