SERVICES: Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, July 9, 2011, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Jim Hart, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Gary was born June 30, 1952 in Amarillo. He had been a resident of Pampa most of his life. He graduated from Pampa High School in 1970 and attended Frank Phillips College in Borger. Gary had many jobs in his life, including working for Gattis Shoe Store and Gattis Appliance and Electronics. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and a former member of First United Methodist Church. He enjoyed many things in his life, but most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, especially his three grandchildren. He was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, son and uncle. Gary was someone who never met a stranger and would do anything for his friends and family. SURVIVORS: two daughters: Stephanie Knabe and husband Cory of Frisco, and Hollie Koehn and husband Brian of Glenpool, Oklahoma; a son: Rickey Gattis and wife Gail of Amarillo; four grandchildren: Jordan Knabe and Colton Knabe, both of Frisco, Braxton Koehn of Glenpool, Oklahoma; and "Critter," a grandbaby on the way from Amarillo; his brother: Mike Gattis and wife Sally Ann of The Woodlands; his sister: Jana Gregory of Pampa; and numerous nieces and nephews. Gary was preceded in death by his parents: John and Jane Gattis; and a brother: Roger Gattis.MEMORIALS: American Red Cross, Gray County Chapter, P.O. Box 1036, Pampa, Texas 79066-1036.
