SERVICES: Vigil will be at 6:30 PM Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel. Funeral mass will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, June 16, 2011 at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, with Rev. Joseph Ravi, associate pastor, officiating.BURIAL: Memory Gardens Cemetery with military honors courtesy of the U. S. Army, Fort Hood, Texas. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Rodriguez was born June 8, 1928 in Winters, Texas. He had been a resident of Pampa since 1965. He married Bernardita Herrera in Grants, New Mexico. She preceded him in death on June 25, 2001. Benny worked for Phillips Pipeline for 42 years, retiring in 1991. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving during the Korean Conflict with the 839th Aviation Engineering. He was a member of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Benny was a pioneer in drag racing and a member and longtime fan of the NHRA. He was also an avid bowler. SURVIVORS: 2 sons: Shaun Rodriguez and wife Tammy of Pampa, and John Rodriguez and wife Erin of Midlothian; 5 grandchildren: Phillip Rodriguez, Nicholes Rodriguez, Brianna Rodriguez, Johnathan Rodriguez and Devon Rodriguez; 1 great-grandchild: Chelslyn Rodriguez: stepmother: Trinidad Rodriguez Cruz of Borger.
