SERVICES: Memorial services will be at 10:30 AM Monday, May 16, 2011 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel in Pampa, Texas, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.BIOGRAPHY: Evelyn was born April 15, 1932 in Westbrook, Texas, to Claude and Birdie Allen. She was married to Bert Haiduk from 1950 until 1995 and raised eight children on their farm outside White Deer, Texas. During the early years with Bert, Evelyn acquired a deep appreciation for artistic expression and began writing poetry. Her 20-year career in nursing began in 1978 as an LVN and concluded with eight years as a hospice nurse, which she considered the most rewarding. Evelyn was married to Carl Warner of Pampa from 1995 until his death in 2007. Her first book, Come Walk With Me, was published in 2002. Five subsequent books of poetry have been published. In the loving company of her family, Evelyn died after a long battle with breast cancer in her home in Santa Fe where she had lived since March of 2010. She had previously resided in White Deer and Pampa, Texas, for over 60 years. Evelyn is survived by her children Eric and Kay Haiduk, and Connie and Oscar Munguia, all of White Deer, Texas, Karen Haiduk and Dan Anthony of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Kris and Dennis Viers of San Ramon, California, Katrina and Mike Adams of Arlington, Texas, Kala and Scott Sigler of Edmond, Oklahoma, Jon and Andi Haiduk of Overland Park, Kansas, and Barbara Vest of Lake City, Florida; her grandchildren include Lance and Brock Anderson, Alberic, Brendan and Therese Haiduk, Claire, Christian and Grace Sigler, Peyton, Hunter and Audrey Adams, and Jordan and Dylan Haiduk, and her great-grandchildren John Brock and Ellis Anderson. She is also survived by her brother Roy Brian Allen of San Antonio, Texas. Evelyn was preceded in death by her brothers Claude, Burt and Edd Allen, her mother Birdie Jane Turner and her father, Claude Allen.MEMORIALS: BSA Hospice, 800 N. Sumner, Pampa, Texas 79065.
