She was raised in Skellytown and graduated from White Deer High School. She had been a resident of Pampa since 1956. She married Gene Horton on January 17, 1960 in Miami. He preceded her in death on December 22, 2000. Shannon was a waitress for many years for Dyers, Danny's Market, and Tom's Country Inn. She owned Pak-A-Burger #2 for several years. She retired after 12 years of service with the Amarillo State Center for MHMR. Shannon loved taking care of the elderly. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She was a very loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be missed dearly.SURVIVORS: 2 daughters: Cynthia Meeks and husband Robert and Sherry Bolch, all of Pampa; 2 sons: Jerry Horton and wife Carla of Panhandle, and Michael Horton of Pampa; 3 sisters: Patty Boyd and husband Deano, Katy Roe and Betty Kitchens, all of Pampa; 10 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
