SERVICES: Graveside services will be at 3:00 PM Monday, May 2, 2011, at Memory Gardens Cemetery, with Pastor James Wart of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Pampa, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Dennis was born January 22, 1918 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to John Henry and Lucy Dennis. He married Lillie Mae Johnson on June 11, 1936. She preceded him in death on March 7, 1997. Slim had been a resident of Pampa since 1954. He worked hard all his life before retiring from Gibson's Grocery as manager. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather. He will be truly missed.SURVIVORS: 5 daughters: Barbara Grissom and Wilma Parks and husband Buster, all of Houston, Darlene Cotten of Amarillo, Clara Dennis of Pampa, and Pat McCain and husband Danny of Burleson; 2 sons: Dwight Dennis and wife Kathy and Aldo Dennis, all of Pampa; 17 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren. Slim was preceded in death by a daughter: Mae Dale Conner; son-in-law: Bob Cotten; grandson: Tommy Conner; 2 great-grandsons: Chafen Wilson and Tyler Hucks; 4 brothers and 4 sisters.
