SERVICES: Memorial services will be at 10:30 AM Saturday, April 9, 2011, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel in Pampa, with John Curry, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Barber was born May 9, 1927 in Pampa where she was a lifelong resident before moving to Weatherford three years ago. She was a 1946 graduate of Pampa High School and attended Texas Woman's University in Denton. Erma Lee married Gene Barber on June 24, 1949 in Pampa. In 1985 she became the corporate secretary for her husband's company, Merriman & Barber, Inc. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She was a supporter of the arts and was a member of Pampa Fine Arts Association and Community Concert Association. SURVIVORS: husband: Gene Barber; daughter: Connie Jean Carlisle of Weatherford; son: Ronald Lee Barber of Fort Worth; 2 grandchildren: Jeanette Hawkins and husband Gary of Nevada, Missouri, and Scott Carlson of Taos, New Mexico; 2 great-grandchildren: Alyx Hawkins and Spencer Hawkins, both of Nevada, Missouri. Erma Lee was preceded in death by a sister: Maleta Parker; and by 5 brothers: Russell Kennedy, Clarence Kennedy, Everett Kennedy, Harley Kennedy, and Cecil Kennedy.MEMORIALS: Pampa Meals on Wheels, P.O.
