BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Calloway was born March 13, 1930 in Rush Springs, Oklahoma, and had been a resident of Pampa since 1939. He served with the U.S. Army occupational forces in Japan during the Korean Conflict. He married Mab Pingleton on April 13, 1957 in Pampa. She preceded him in death on March 27, 1993. He later married Barbara Williams on October 27, 1995. She preceded him in death on September 22, 2010. Bill was in the retail grocery business for over 45 years. He worked for Fite's Food Market for many years and then became a partner with Ray Williams at Ray and Bill's Grocery for over 10 years. He also worked for Frank's Foods for several years. Bill was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and Pampa Masonic Lodge #966.SURVIVORS: daughter: Vickie Sweat of Los Angeles, California; stepdaughter: Terry Lemons of Pampa; 2 stepsons: Rob Williams and wife Judy of Amarillo, and Eddy Williams of Pampa; 2 granddaughters: Jessica Sweat of Los Angeles, California, and Jennifer Mathews and husband Henry of Virginia Beach, Virginia; 3 great-grandchildren: Isaiah Mathews and Corinthian Mathews, both of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Tahlia Davis of Los Angeles, California; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
