She graduated from Gunnison High School in Gunnison, Colorado in 1999 and received her R.N. license in Gunnison. She had been a resident of Pampa for the past 5 years, moving from Gunnison. She was a member of the Cowboys for Christ Church in Wheeler. She and her brothers formed and played in a band called "Skyy Eura Band." SURVIVORS: parents: John and Lee Ann Mears of Pampa; 5 brothers: Cody Mears and Justen Mickel Mears, both of Pampa, Jaret Lee Mears of Montana, Michael Louis Moore of Denver, Colorado, and Clinton Matthew Moore of Idaho; 4 sisters: Lisa Nannett Cowan of Boonville, Missouri, Kasha Lynn Mears of Montana, and Ginny Lynn Nosek and Erika Salazar, both of Pampa; maternal grandparents: Bob and Aetna Carr of Gunnison, Colorado, and Ted and C. J. Goodner of Lamar, Colorado; paternal grandparents: Nancy Shelton and Robert Hilton, both of Pampa; foster mother: Teresa Shelton of Pampa; 2 nieces: Nancy Shelton and Jaydan Shelton, both of Pampa.
