Went to be with the Lord on January 27, 2011 at Pampa, Texas.SERVICES: Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, January 29, 2011, at Fairview Cemetery, with Rev. Fines Marchman, pastor of First Baptist Church of Skellytown, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Myers was born March 19, 1921 in Prairie County, Arkansas, outside of Little Rock, to William Coleman Terry and Vira Terry. She played basketball at Reydon High School at Reydon, Oklahoma and was their All-Star player her junior year. She scored 20-25 points a game when the girls only played half-court. Mamie married Royal Myers on November 6, 1940 in Reydon, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on February 1, 1973. She had been a resident of Pampa since 1954. She was a cafeteria manager for Pampa Independent School District for 20 years, retiring in 1980. She was a wonderful cook. Her specialties were hot rolls, cinnamon rolls and peach cobblers. She was a Baptist. She loved and cared for her entire family. She was preceded in death by her parents: daughter: Anita (Ann) White; a grandson: Matt Newsome; 4 brothers and 2 sisters. SURVIVORS: one son: Kenneth Myers of Pampa; two daughters: Frances Furgason and husband Dwayne, and Rita Cochran and husband Kirby, all of Pampa; eight grandchildren: Randy Furgason of Pampa, Amy Albus and husband Anthony of Kingsville, Tina Burns and husband Marlin of Gore, Oklahoma, Scott Furgason and wife Julie of White Deer, Brian Newsome and wife Dana, and Duncan Newsome and wife Lori, all of Amarillo, Chad Cochran and wife Rebecca of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Brad Cochran and wife Carrie of Sache; 19 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter; son-in-law: James White of Amarillo; several nieces and nephews.
