Jim Fox, pastor of Avenue Baptist Church of Hereford, officiating.BURIAL: Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Horton was born January 19, 1912 in Kaufman, Texas. As a child, she lived at Wright City, Oklahoma, Dierks, Arkansas and Snyder, Texas, and completed high school at Dunn, Texas in 1931. She married J. T. Horton on November 26, 1933 at Dunn, and he preceded her in death. She came to Pampa in 1941, moving to Skellytown in 1942, and returning to Pampa in March of 1954, where she had been a resident for 53 years. Tillie had been a member of Hobart Baptist Church since 1954. She will be remembered for her love of life, family and friends. SURVIVORS: nephews: John D. Horton of Gun Barrel City, Texas, and James Robert Brown of Ira, Texas; nieces: Joyce Flowers of Ira, Texas, Velma Lou VanMeter of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Nancy Thrower of Edmond, Oklahoma and Peggy Hamm of Spring Branch, Texas; many other nieces and nephews; special people in her life: Debby Darby, Johnnie Cook, and Brenda Cook, all of Pampa. She was preceded in death by her parents: W. W. Black and Julia Young Black; 2 sisters: Emily Brown and Opal Brown; a sister-in-law: Martha Johnston; and 3 brothers: C. C. Black, W. W. Black and Havis Black.
