BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Hyatt was born November 20, 1927 in Quanah to J. B. (Jim) Duncan and Tressie Savage Duncan. She moved to Pampa as a teenager and attended Pampa schools. Janice married J. C. (Jake) Hyatt on November 4, 1946 in Pampa. She was the love of his life and they were married for 41 years before Jake passed away in September of 1987. Janice worked for Pampa ISD, retiring in 1995. She moved to Amarillo in 2004 to be closer to her family. Proverbs 31:25-31 describes Janice. She was a mother who lived to serve others and never wanted to be served. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.SURVIVORS: her son: Gary J. Hyatt and wife Kathy of Amarillo; her daughter: Sherry Gray and husband Lee of Amarillo; four grandchildren: Ryan King and wife Dawn of Pampa, Katie Hoyler and husband Alex of Canyon, Cody Hyatt and wife Erin and Kacie Holland and husband Jeff, all of Amarillo; nine great-grandchildren who loved their "MeMe"; two brothers: Hubert (Tiny) Duncan and wife Linda of Pampa, and Dennis Duncan and wife Achsa of Hugoton, Kansas; and many nieces and nephews from all over the west.
