SERVICES: Rosary will be at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in White Deer. Funeral mass will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Mieczyslaw "Mitch" Przepiora of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of White Deer, and Msgr. James Gurzynski of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church of Amarillo, co-celebrants, officiating. BURIAL: Sacred Heart Cemetery in White Deer, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors in Pampa. BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Martinez was born March 1, 1918 in Woodward, Oklahoma. She married the love of her life, Jose Silva Martinez, on June 25, 1938. They raised their family in White Deer since 1946. Jose preceded her in death on May 5, 1978. From an early age, her love for singing developed into a deep devotion to her faith. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church in White Deer, where she sang with the choir and was a member of the Altar Society. This kind, gentle and loving soul never met a stranger and she was deeply loved by all who knew her. Considered the "heart" of her family, Mickey inspired them to be more giving, thankful and loving to all. For that, her family is truly blessed and is dedicated to seeing that her amazing legacy lives on. SURVIVORS: 3 sons: Joe J. Martinez and wife Gloria of Austin, Laurence F. Martinez and wife Mary of Amarillo, and Jesse G. Martinez and wife Margaret Ann of White Deer; 3 daughters: Delfina Vigil and husband Sonny of White Deer, Carolina Castro and husband Juan of Plainview and Vickey Velez and husband Rudy of Pampa; 20 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Mickey was preceded in death by her parents; Maximiano and Maria Mancillas; 2 sons: Jaime Juan Martinez and Vicente James Martinez; a grandson: Matthew Paul Velez and a great-granddaughter: Cambri Jade Jenkins.
