SERVICES: 10:00 AM Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010, at the Central Baptist Church with Rev. Norman Rushing, pastor, and Rev. Rick Parnell, associate pastor, officiating.BURIAL: Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Vaughn was born Sept. 28, 1930 in Borger. She was raised in the Skelly Oil Camp, graduated from Dumas High School, and attended Draughon's Business School in Amarillo. Dorothy married Gerald Vaughn on Aug. 5, 1949 in Dumas, and she had been a resident of Pampa since 1954. She was a homemaker and sold Mary Kay cosmetics for many years. Dorothy was a longtime member of Central Baptist Church and was a member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority and the Red Hat Club for several years. After her husband's retirement, she enjoyed taking their RV every winter to Mission, Texas for over 10 years. Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, and "Nannie," and enjoyed spending time with her family.SURVIVORS: 4 daughters: Jeri Gerald and husband Chris and Clessie Cates and husband Rick, all of Canyon; Reba Howard and husband Ben of Pampa, and Sharla Hare and husband Gus of San Antonio; a sister: Clessie Dunn and husband Roy Lee of Odessa; 9 grandchildren: Heather Tankersley and husband Brian, Ryan Cates, and Colin Howard, all of Canyon, Clessie Moreno and husband Johnny of Dumas, Lyndsey Cates of Tomball, Prebble Hare, Presley Hare, and Paige Hare, all of San Antonio, and Tyler Howard of Pampa; and 4 great grandchildren: Paitlyn Tankersley and Jaxon Tankersley, both of Canyon, and Greysen Moreno and Gunner Moreno, both of Dumas. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, Gerald, on Dec. 2, 2007.MEMORIALS: Central Baptist Church, 513 E.
