SERVICES: Memorial services will be at 3:00 PM Saturday, December 11, 2010, at Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall at 1701 Coffee Street, with Martin Lopez and Vinedo Rey, ministers, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Helen was born October 3, 1926 in Cedar Hill, Ohio to Pearl and Mary Ellen Waites. She came to Pampa in 1946 and worked at Southwestern Bell Telephone as an operator for 30+ years. She was a member of Southwestern Bell Pioneers for many years. Helen loved to sew, crochet, needle-work and crafting. Her love for animals brought her great joy. Traveling was an adventure for her, also. Helen had a deep love for the Bible and its promises, and she shared that love with family and her many friends. She was a caregiver for a number of family members for years. She loved life, and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.The family wishes to extend their thanks to Odyssey Hospice for their love and care of Helen. SURVIVORS: her siblings: Mert Campbell of Lancaster, Ohio, Alice, Jim Waites and wife Mary Lou, Ed Waites and wife Carol, all of Columbus, Ohio, Jr. Waites and wife Joyce of Newark, Ohio; many nieces and nephews; 2 stepchildren: Fred Spalding and wife Stella of Portsmouth, Virgina, and Vivian Neff and husband Warren of Omaha, Nebraska; 3 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 1 step-grandson: Jeff Jacobs and wife Ginger of Keota, Oklahoma; brother-in-law: Jerry Jacobs of Gonzales; and sister-in-law and dear friend: Billie Greautau of Fountain Valley, California; foster daughter: Sandra Schunaman and her children and grandchildren.
