Leland Lewis, pastor of First Assembly of God, officiating.BURIAL: Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Salsman was born March 3, 1913 in Bristow, Oklahoma. She was the first of eleven children born to Ernest and Mattie Reed Barnett. Her father was a carpenter and her mother was a homemaker. Mildred married James Rufus Swinford and they had a son, James D. Swinford. James preceded her in death, and she later married James H. Salsman, who also preceded her in death. She had been a resident of Pampa, Artesia, New Mexico and Poteau, Oklahoma. She was a member of First Assembly of God. Mildred enjoyed crocheting and collecting dolls. SURVIVORS: son: James D. Swinford and wife Kay of Canyon; daughter: Gwyn Kirkpatrick and husband Ron of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 2 granddaughters: Laura Taylor and husband Victor of Amarillo, and Rhonda Harder of Tulsa, Oklahoma; grandson: Brad Bridges and wife Becky of Tulsa, Oklahoma; great-granddaughter: Morgan Harder of Tulsa, Oklahoma; great-grandson: Mark Bridges of Tulsa, Oklahoma; sister: Ilene Baxter of Stillwater, Oklahoma; and brother-in-law: James L. "PeeWee" Romines and wife Vivian. She was preceded in death by her parents and nine siblings. MEMORIALS: Gideons International, 2200 SW 7th Ave., Amarillo, Texas 79106.
