SERVICES: 2:00 PM Friday, October 29, 2010, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Rev. Andy Tyler, his nephew and pastor of First United Methodist Church of Newcastle, officiating. BURIAL: Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Tyler was born March 28, 1929 in Pioneer, Texas and was a 1947 graduate of Phillips High School. He married Nikki Janice Warren on March 27, 1953 in Clovis, New Mexico. Ralph had been a resident of Pampa since 1953. He worked for Phillips Petroleum for 47 years, retiring in 1994. He was a member of Central Baptist Church and a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. Ralph coached the Dixie Parts Little League baseball team for several years with the Pampa Optimist Club.SURVIVORS: wife: Nikki Janice Tyler of the home; 2 daughters: Julie Tyler of Eastland and Christy Marlar and husband Larry of Abilene; 1 brother: Harold Tyler and wife Merlene of Mansfield; a granddaughter: Holly Kroon and husband Tyson of Wasilla, Alaska; 2 great-grandchildren: Lainey Kroon and Zane Kroon, both of Wasilla, Alaska; several nieces and nephews.
