Lewis Ellis, retired Baptist minister, officiating.BURIAL: Memory Gardens Cemetery with military honors by the U. S. Navy.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Abernathy was born on June 11, 1925 in Guthrie, Oklahoma. He was a resident of Pampa since 1927 and was a 1943 graduate of Pampa High School. Bill entered the U. S. Navy after graduating from high school and served with the Navy Seabees in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. He married Barbara Davis on May 10, 1946 in Pampa. She preceded him in death in 2004. Bill worked as warehouse manager for H. R. Thompson Parts and Supply for 45 years, retiring in 1991. He was a member of the Pampa VFW Post.SURVIVORS: 2 daughters: Judith A. Salazar and Karen Sue "Susie" Fultz, both of Pampa; 2 granddaughters: Jennifer Lopez and husband Greg of Conroe and Lindsay Fultz of Portales, New Mexico; and by a great granddaughter, Gracelyn Lopez of Conroe.
