SERVICES: 10:00 AM Wednesday, September 29, 2010, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Pastor Mike Laurence of Calvary Baptist Church of Panhandle, officiating.BURIAL: Memory Gardens under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Story was born on May 20, 1917 in Ford County, Texas. She attended schools in Whitharral and graduated from Whitharral High School. She married Lebert Payne in 1936; he preceded her in death in 1949. Mrs. Story later married Robert Story on April 16, 1955 in Roswell, New Mexico; he preceded her in death on March 8, 1999. Mrs. Story and her family moved to Pampa in 1963 and moved to Amarillo in 2003. She was a homemaker and a seamstress. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Pampa. Later, when she lived with her daughter, she attended Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Amarillo and Calvary Baptist Church in Panhandle. In her spare time, she liked to sew and create clothing for her family.SURVIVORS: Daughter: Teresa Story of Panhandle; Son: Robert Story and wife Martha of League City; brother: S. W. Keeton of Big Spring; 3 sisters: Myrtle Caudell of Richardson, Gracie Boyett of Borger, and Lena Payne of Slidell, Louisiana; 2 grandsons: John Robert Story and wife Jody of League City, and Brent Story and wife Sofia of Amarillo; granddaughter: Anne Day and husband Andy of Carrollton; 5 great-grandchildren, and a sister-in-law, Ina Keeton of Amarillo. Mrs. Story was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney and Molly Keeton, two brothers, Calvin Keeton and George Keeton, and by a sister, Fannie Keeton.MEMORIALS: Calvary Baptist Church, 803 Maple, Panhandle, Texas 79068.
