SERVICES: Funeral mass will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, September 23, 2010, at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church in Pampa, with Rev. Francisco Perez, pastor, officiating.BURIAL: Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Marquez was born July 28, 1930 in Villa de Arriaga, San Luis Potosi, Mexico. He was reared in Mexico where he attended schools. He married Paulina Perez in Mexico. They came to the United States in 1950, moving to the Texas panhandle where he farmed for several years. Mr. Marquez and family moved back to Mexico where he was heavily involved in politics and civic activism, and was well known in his area. Years later after his documentation was complete, he relocated back to the United States, moving to Del Rio in the 1980's, and later resided in White Deer. He worked as a machinist for Scarab Manufacturing in White Deer for many years. Nazario was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in White Deer and attended Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Amarillo. In his spare time, he loved to garden and work around the house.SURVIVORS: wife: Paulina Marquez of the home; 8 daughters: Paulina Mendoza, Victoria Garcia, Lucia Gandara, Maria De Jesus Marquez, Maria Marquez, Ma Luisa Marquez, Margarita Marquez, and Maria Guadalupe Alvarez; 5 sons: Tomas Marquez, Tito Marquez, Nazario P. Marquez, Ildefonso Alvarez, and Nazario Marquez; 41 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers and 6 sisters.MEMORIALS: American Diabetes Association, 8008 Slide Road, Suite 12-A, Lubbock, Texas 79424.
