SERVICES: Memorial services will be at 10:00 AM Friday, September 24, 2010, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with John Curry, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Palmitier was born May 16, 1918 in Creek County, Oklahoma. She had been a resident of Pampa most of her life. She married Dewey W. Palmitier on September 15, 1945 in Denver, Colorado. He preceded her in death on August 20, 2005. Margaret attended the First United Methodist Church in Pampa. She was a charter member and past president of Pampa Fine Arts Association, where she was named Artist of the Year in 1978. She was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was very proud of her ancestral heritage, especially her father, A. F. Johnston, who was a wildcat oilman, prominent in Gray County oil exploration and production in the 1920's and 1930's. Her copper enameling has been enjoyed by many throughout the years. Due to her talents, she was a guest of the Israeli government and exhibited her artwork at the National Museum in Tel Aviv in 1981.SURVIVORS: 3 sons: Stephen Palmitier of Yukon, Oklahoma, Dennis Palmitier and John Palmitier and wife Ellen, all of Pampa; 4 grandchildren: Daniel Palmitier and wife Jessica of San Antonio, Chris Palmitier of Pampa, Doug Palmitier of Houston, and Jeremy Palmitier of Camp Speicher, Iraq; 3 great-grandchildren: Heather Palmitier of San Antonio, and Tyler and Emily Palmitier, both of Pampa.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pampa Meals on Wheels, P.O.
