SERVICES: Memorial services will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, September 21, 2010, at First Baptist Church in Skellytown, with Rev. Fines Marchman, pastor, officiating.BURIAL: Fairview Cemetery in Pampa, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Stricklin was born October 1, 1948 in Merced, California. He had been a lifelong resident of Skellytown. James married Paula McWhorter on August 20, 1966 in Fritch. He was a tool pusher for Leonard Hudson Drilling in Pampa for 18 years, and Service Drilling in Borger for 28 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Skellytown.SURVIVORS: wife: Paula Stricklin of the home; son: James Stricklin, III and wife Jamie of Skellytown; father: Robert W. Rhodes of Skellytown; 2 sisters: Ella Mae Hicks of Skellytown and Betty Wheeler and husband J. P. of Pampa; 2 brothers: Robert Rhodes of Ridgecrest, California, and Bill Rhodes and wife Brenda of Dallas; 4 grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother: Grace Rhodes; and a sister: Barbara Jean Selvidge.SPECIAL NOTICE: The body will not be available for viewing.
